CYCLES OF ARTMAKING

8/1/2014

For most, a bicycle might sound like an odd tool for art making. However, it has become a fundamental component of my artistic practice. When I bought my current bicycle four years ago, I had no idea how much it would broaden my vision, peak my curiosity and fuel the thousands of photographs I have taken while riding it. Some of those photos have found their way into my recent paintings as well. Yesterday, I spent a beautiful afternoon pedaling and taking pictures. Almost everyday I come to the studio, I pedal here. I am grateful for my bicycle and for limbs that work.
